Simple Things...

Listening to my ipod this morning this song got me thinking of my family, and how i wish i could be at home during this holiday season, even if it is just to fight with one of my sisters!

Sometimes i just miss that we are all just a little bit the same kind of crazy
...

If you love the life you live

Then you'll get a lot more done

Be more inclined to take the reins
Than turn away and run

It's very rare it seems to get a lifetime guarantee,
So I suppose self satisfaction be the key

My father is a wealthy, self made man
But his wealth does not consist of riches or acres of land

Instead he has a family who are
His biggest fans
That's something that I one day hope to have

So I'll cherish the simple things
The easy took for granted things

Like going round my Mum's house for my tea
And argue with my sister,

Only God knows how I missed her

It's the simple things that mean the most to me

Stupid Eastern European Late Release dates.....

cant wait for this movie to come out over here.....

not just because it has lots of kick-ass oscar winning stars in it

not just because its a musical (i love musicals)

but mainly because it has one of my best buds Steven in it!!!

He went to an open audition in London and told me he almost left as there were so many people and they all looked really good, but he had cancelled his day job for that day so thought he better just hang around....turned up they picked 2 boys and he was one of them.

i liked calling him up and asking him what he had done that day and he would casually remark, 'Spent the day trying to lift Nicole Kidman and touching her bum'
or
'Well Goldie Hawn popped in to watch rehearsal'

He is way to cool to be star-struck like i would be.
Keep your eyes peeled for him

It was amazing!

Introducing.....

Del-Boy
My new pet tortoise
Her real name is Princess Florentine the Third but she has told me that she prefers to go by the nickname of Del-Boy. (like from Only Fools and Horses)

I have been visiting her in the pet shop for a few months now, promising her that one day i would come in and take her home with me. I was having a Christmas dinner party at the weekend and decided that she should be the guest of honour. I walked into the pet shop and said to the asisstant,
'I would like to buy this pet tortoise'
She quesitoned me,
'What, now?'
She had seen me on many an occasion in which i had proceeded to grill her on the ins and outs of tortoises.
'Yip', declared I, 'today is the day'

and now Del-Boy is at home with me
and i wont be alone for Christmas!

Have yourself a merry little Christmas....

Just got finished watching Meet Me In St. Louis.
I love this movie.

I also love some of the costumes in it like
this kooky bow tie

This gorgeous blouse

This jacket

and this sequined head scarf
I think tomorrow i'm going to dress like this....
even if it is -10 degrees Celsius outside...
then again maybe not

Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas

i love getting post.....

I received these two little beauties in the post this week,
from my little brothers

drawn by Brodie age 8

and Jordan age 10

they look lovely up on the shelf with my other Christmas cards

and definitely put a smile up on my face.

No Christmas Holidays for me.....

Whilst most of you are all holidaying, I will still be here working away on this...

So remember if your going to the ballet this year, some of those poor ballerinas will not be going home this Chirstmas......

Sunday thought....

God rest ye merry gentlemen
Let nothing ye dismay
For Christ our Lord and Saviour
was born on Christmas day.
To save our souls from Satans power
When we have gone astray

O tidings of comfort and Joy!

Bedtime Stories....

"Everyone likes a fairy tale story because everyone wants things to come out right in the end. And even though to tell a story is to tell some kind of untruth, one often suspects that what seems to be untruth is really a hidden truth."

Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Lights....

Finally got round to seeing the Christmas Lights and Market in Center Ljubljana. Every year there are new ones which they simply add rather than replacing so there is a large mix of different themes which all clash....i love it!!!
This year seems to be the year of the giant cubes.....

Although a few of them need explaining.....
what does this one look like to you?

If you say and egg with sperm around it you would be right.
When these lights were designed there was a competition and these were chosen as they represented birth and the new year.......

along with that theme is the Giant DNA strand

and yes these are not pretty comets but giant intergalactic sperm
You also wouldnt find any red lights as it reminded them too much of communism,
but this year i see that a few have begun to sneak in!

i do not suffer from chionophobia-( Fear of Snow)....

Oh how fluffy was my excitement yesterday morning when i opened my blinds to see that it had snowed over night!!!!

Later in the evening Captain Tim and I got dressed up in our Silliest but Sensibilist Snowman Building attire.

Unfortunately there wasn't quite as much snow in the garden as my eager anticipation anticipated....there was enough to make a baby snowman whom we named Beethoven.

We placed him on the windowsill so he could look in the window and watch tv with us... he would like to have come inside but he suffers from a Fear-Of-Melting-Indoors......

most snowmen do....
