A little bit of Zeta Luvin....

I've always been a little bit of a C.Z.J fan,
especially since her stint in Chicago

but i came across her Tony win on YouTube and it made me smile.
I love her over eager excitment, even though she is a major A-Lister.
and i love the way Michael smiles at her and their little interaction before she realises she should head up on stage and just hikes up her ball gown, forgetting where she is.

You can take the girl out of Wales....
but you cant take Wales out of the girl.

style="text-align: center;">at some point she took these pictures

and thats just funny.

Twitterpated....

I spent Sunday afternoon watching Disney movies with my sisters.

This little clip from Bambi talks about being 'twitterpated'
and i thought to myself....
boy oh boy
do i know that feeling.

How right is Mister Owl.

And dont forget it can happen to any one of you!

Just a little bit like me....

I like that even though i havent seen my sisters
in a year just being with them is like home.

I walk in the house and my wee sister is wearing a pair of new glasses
just like ones that i bought not so long ago.

On declaring to my big sister on the bus that i was hungry she whipped
out a packet of crackers and Philadelphia cream cheese....
my recent current food addiction.

On going to the newsagents i was just declaring to her
my current love for Mars Ice Cream bars,
only to discover that was exactly what she had detoured us into to the shop for.

Its nice to know there are other people out there who are just a little bit
like me without even trying...

A Fantastic, Fantastic Mister Fox....

Why have i only just got round to seeing the movie Fantastic Mister Fox?
Is it because i've been busy filling my last couple of week here in Ljubljana doing things i'd always thought i'd get round to doing but never did and a few other bonuses that just popped up..

like,
going white water rafting...
having multiple bbq's...
sailing around the coast in fancy boats...
swimming in the ocean...
going to outdoor movies...
sneaking into the fanciest hotel in the country
and using there swimming pool and eating a free buffet....
swimming in a fresh water lake between the mountains...

and generally just catching up with friends...

at any rate,
I loved this movie...
LOVED!

Making Friends...

Friendship is born in the moment
when one person says to the other,
"What! you too?
I thought I was the only one."

C.S.Lewis

One of the hardest things about leaving Slovenia and going to a new country
is the thought of having to make new friends.
I like the fact that i have been here long enough that i no longer have to try and explain away
my little quirks and oddities that each of us have,
i dont have to defend them,
that is just how i am and my friends know this and have accepted me for who i am.

i am sure that there are new friends out there in the making...
its just a daunting thought as
the process of finding them can be tough and lonely.

me and my jelly shoes...

So i realised the other day that for the past 3 years during the months of may until september i have only worn one pair of shoes.
My lovely jelly shoes.
We have been through lots of good times together....
and not so many bad.
In our three years together they have come in handy in a multitude of different places and events.
For example...

They make great dancing shoes at parties...
they are excellent for late night golfing in thunderstorms...

for just hanging out at graveyards in

for going on rollercoaster rides,
they keep me in the queues and prevent me from running away...

and for hiking up to hidden water falls...

Perhaps you cant see them in these pictures
that is why they have also inherited the nickname of being called
My Invisible Shoes

I hope that we have many more fond memories in the making

In Memorium...

Captain Tim has moved to Italy and just around the corner from his house we discovered a large WWI war memorial, The Redipuglia War Memorial, that is rather under-sign posted.
Its so huge you couldnt miss it but so in the middle of no where that unless you knew where it was you would never find it.

Apparently it is the largest War Memorial in Italy.
On one side of the road they have old artillery and tanks

and some of the original trenches,
and bunkers,

with headstones for all the different groups of people who fought in the war.

On the other side is a huge monument that was built on the site of a graveyard that had gone into disarray.

Underneath it are the bones of 40,000 named soldiers and 60,000 unknown soldiers.

At the bottom in large tombs are the Generals who wished to be buried with their men.

It certainly made me stop and think and be thankful for my freedom.

Becoming A Beach Babe...

I went to beach in Italy this weekend and for the first time in my life swam in a warm sea.

This was probably because i am not in Scotland and not trying to swim in the North Sea which inevitably ends up with my coming out of the water blue and shivering....

it may have sparked a love of beaches that i never knew i had.

I have no pictures as my computer is still on the fritz...
but here is what i wish i actually looked like....
