I've not gone AWOL....

In fact i've been very very busy.

I've finished my Ballet Teachers Diploma (with top grades...who knew!)
I've been holidaying in
Morocco, Gibraltar and the South of Spain
(hopefully photos to come soon)

But most importantly today is
our first wedding Anniversary!!!!

Which is just an excuse for me to post wedding photos again!

Our Wedding Day was amazing,
we love looking at the pictures and
reminiscing about it,

but being married is what its all about and its amazing.
Someone who loves me and supports me
and makes sure that I'm aiming to be the best i can be,
putting me straight when i'm out of line.

I cant wait for year 2....

Wedding...behind the scenes

I love this picture of husband.
It's an awesome 'behind the scens shot'
In the background is my wedding photographer and Maid of Honour
prepping me for a fancy photo,

I think it captures the first few minutes of our marriage pretty well!

wedding - the wedding morning -

I hope your not sick of my wedding yet....
even though it was so long ago now,
i haven't finished blogging about it yet!

I love my wedding pictures.
i'll put them up a bit at a time.

I love meeting new people just
so i can show them my pictures,
trust me everyone
that i meet gets a viewing!

These ones are from the morning.

I just looked over my posts and realised that i actually didnt write about
my wedding morning.

I really enjoyed my wedding morning.
Looking out the window in the morning and checking for blue skies was like Christmas!!!
(i sent one of my bridesmaids to do it i was too nervous)

I had told everyone who was helping out
to come round really early
(they thought i was being ridiculous)
but i'm glad they did as i never felt rushed at all.

In fact it was great just to take my time.

I felt so loved on my wedding morning,
everyone there wanting to help out to make my day go smoothly.

None of my bridesmaids had
tried on their dresses before so it was good to know that they fitted!

My bridesmaid were steaming my dress and
my veil in the bathroom. My sister was sewing me into my dress.
My sisters and bridesmaids
did my hair and make-up
and my other sister was doing my photography.

It was great to be surrounded by friends and family
instead of 'wedding employees'
it meant that i could really be myself.

The Childlike Empress....

I've always loved The Never Ending Story.
it was one of my favourite movies growing up
and consequently the book is one that i can
re-read again and again
and always feel inspired.

I loved The Childlike Empress
as a child I thought she was the most enchanting
beautiful person ever.
The fact that she was around my age also
made her more relatable to my childlike fantasies.

So my wedding headdress was a little bit of a
Childlike Empress throwback.

Although it turns out
my husband has no idea who The Childlike Empress
and all he knows about The Never Ending Story
is the 8o's theme tune.

This of course had to be rectified....

He thought the movie was ok,
a bit weird....
but he guessed he would have probably liked
it as a kid.

We also had to watch Willow...
as it is awesome and he'd never even heard of it.

I discovered that nor does he really know who Peter Pan
is either (a fairy boy in green tights?)
This i think will be sorted out at some point too.

To be fair,
this weekend we had to watch Top Gun
to rectify me having never seen this movie...
a movie he can quote word for word,
he had to watch it gagged.

The First Dance.....

My husband cannot dance.
He has no rhythm and two left feet.
Went we go out dancing
he stands in the middle and
i dance around him.

I love the way he dances,
it makes me
smile and laugh so hard

This was the first,
but not the last...

WEDDING -The Dream Dress.....

I havent written about my wedding dress yet.
Which is crazy seeing as i've been dreaming of my wedding dress
since i could dream

In fact my sister reminded of how during church when we were little
i used to sit with a little notebook and just repeatedly
draw wedding dresses.

My Big Sis designed my dress.
i described to her what i wanted.

The main inspiration was Grace Kelly.
I was totally miffed when Kate Middleton
did the whole Grace Kelly inspired thing....
as i knew people would compare me to her
instead of Grace.

It nearly put me off the idea...
so much so that Tim who had always heard me go on about
Grace Kelly's dress was quite surprised on the
wedding day when i HAD gone for it!

I sent my sister a few inspiration pictures.

A Grace Kelly Top

A bit of a train with a bow on the back

A soft chiffon skirt,
that lay on the floor all over
(this caused great difficulty in me walking down the aisle!)

A couple of montages she made up

and the designs she drew.

I was so glad that she understood my vision.

(with a little bit of Marilyn!)

Wedding - Flowers

When we got engaged i knew exactly which wedding flowers we
would be having.

I would carry Sunflowers.
and my bridesmaids Dried Lavender

Sunflowers -
because they are my favourite flower.
they are so bright and cheerful

but not just that,
they are the only flowers Tim has ever bought me.
Early on in our relationship i mentioned they
were my favourite and he picked right up on it.

For our first anniversary of dating he bought me a sunflower
in a pot...
We named it Sonic.
We planted it in his garden.

One night he called me after having a BBQ with his friends.

'i think they all think i'm a bit strange'
he said.
'why'
i asked.

'Well after the BBQ we headed indoors
but i kept running outside with my head torch on
to attack the slugs that have been eating Sonic..
They told me to just leave it alone,
and they didnt understand when i tried to tell
then its my girlfriends favourite flower.'

Sonic didnt survive the slugs,
but i knew he was a keeper.

Lavender -
Captain Tim is obsessed with lavender.
He thinks it cures all diseases....
everything!
He reminds me of the dad in
My Big Fat Greek Wedding who thinks
Windex cures everything.

Wedding - Pirates and Princesses

So i totally have way more wedding posts to write,
even though the wedding was 5 months ago
(i'm still waiting on some piccys)

in fact last week husband got all
excited about celebrating our 6month
wedding anniversary,
only to be told by one of the crew that we are way too eager
and its only our 5month anniversary.

Oh well, he still took me out for a fancy steak dinner.

Anyhows,
here are our wedding photoboth pictures
(which i thought i had blogged ages ago but dont think i did)

It was a pirates and princess theme.
